Gangsta rap albums

So, I wanted to hear someone play the chaconne in tempo, just to hear how it works. And since no one seems to play it that way, I finally went and got the MIDI from Dave’s JS Bach MIDI page and put it into Ableton Live. I added a bunch of triple meter Afro-Cuban drum patterns to help me feel the beat, and had them enter and exit wherever I heard a natural section boundary in the music. Contact me to hear the MIDI-only version.

Here are six initiatives in Africa today doing constructive work for the future of music and music education.

There are plenty of online tutorials to guide you through the technical editing practices depending on the software you use, but it’s important to ensure each episode makes sense and flows well. Have someone with neutral ears listen before you publish if you can.

This is obviously a matter of little importance, since the notes which form the mode are the same, the only difference would be which scale we decide to compare it to.

(Don’t worry guys) I listened to the radio instead, so Puppy could have his playlist) But now, when I know I’ll be using Spotify, it’s YouTube playlists all the way.

When applying the Dorian mode to “modal” music, or soloing over a single chord, like many jazz improvisers tend to do, it can be helpful to include arpeggios in our lines. Here is a Dorian arpeggio (Dm6).

Absolutely. We didn’t have a blueprint on how to build any of our tech, so there was a lot of trial and error. We were an incredibly lean team for the first three years as we experimented, tested, and iterated our tech to a point that we could prove that our algorithms worked! There were plenty of sleepless nights and countless hours of staring at spreadsheets before we got our classification right. According to author Steve Knopper, this dance and performance publicly solidified Michael Jackson as a solo artist and not just part of the Jackson 5. Because of this, the day after the performance, he received an encouraging phone call from Fred Astaire, 84 years old at the time, who told him how great of a dancer he was. Jackson, shellshocked, actually threw up out of modesty, and the rest is history.

Muru was initially created to solve a professional problem I had as a music curator. As a consultant, I was creating these incredibly long playlists for small venues like bars, restaurants, hair salons, etc. The very initial idea for Muru was to build a search tool that would help me find more songs with the same “vibe” as the ones I had already found. If a Jackson 5 song worked really well in a previous playlist, I wanted to find songs with a similar vibe for the next playlist.
